The Donald Kaufman Toy Collection, auctioned by Bertoia Auctions

Widely considered to be the ultimate assemblage of antique and vintage toys in private hands today, the Donald Kaufman collection has fueled the fantasies of many a collector over the past five decades. Now the entire contents (in excess of seven thousand pieces) of that fabled collection will be made available to one and all, starting with a 1500-lot offering at Bertoia Auctions in Vineland, NJ, from March 19-21, 2009.

You’re just like me. I my self collect vintage toys for some time now. I’ve been offer money for most of my collection But I can’t see my self letting them go. I now one day I’ll have to face the choice you are facing. You have done well keeping these beautiful toys alive and well and I hope they end up in the hands of others who have the same passion you and I have. God Bless You My friend., Joey

Why not make a museum and keep them. I’d go every day.

A fantastic collection. I can see you have taken care of them. One small piece of advice when touching these models you should wear gloves because of the acid we release from our hands in the sweat. There is a lot of money in your collection, maybe your grandson(s) might take an interest in the collection, or maybe give a few to a toy museum with the condition that your name is always displayed., whatever you decide this is worth a lot, so be careful how you sell.

What a tragedy!!! don’t sell them they need to be in a meuseum. For all generations to enjoy, if you have financial concerns then allow the museum help you out but this would be a great thing to put a small town on the map and generate revenue from either donations or ticket sales from visitors.

A wonderfull collection! Did Mr. Kauffman sell all the toys or did he keep a few for himself? Thank you so much.
